At the remarkable age of 84, KHS General Manager Jack Hsieh captured the gold medal in the road cycling event at the 2025 World Masters Games, earning widespread admiration. Held in Taipei, Taiwan, the road race took place on May 28, and Jack was the oldest competitor in the cycling events at this year’s Games.
Jack began serious cycling only at the age of 60, but his passion has only grown with time. His cycling adventures have taken him across Taiwan and beyond, and he has completed an incredible 22 full rides around the island to date. Along the way, Jack has generously shared his knowledge of cycling techniques, sports science, and health insights, and has been a strong advocate for cycling safety. He truly exemplifies the spirit of “ride for life, learn for life.”
When asked about his motivation to join the Masters Games, Jack laughed and said, “I just wanted to show off a little! After all, how many 84-year-olds can still ride 100 kilometers?” Through his participation, Jack hopes to inspire more people to embrace cycling as a way to stay healthy and active, while also proudly promoting the KHS bicycle brand.
Jack extended his heartfelt thanks to his son Henry, who trained and rode alongside him for over six months leading up to the event and throughout the competition. An avid athlete, Henry has completed both a 226K full-distance Ironman triathlon and a 113K middle-distance triathlon (also known as a Half Ironman). The father-son duo shares a deep passion for sports and endurance challenges.
At 84, Jack Hsieh has been cycling for over 20 years and still rides his e-bike daily for fitness and leisure. He dedicated six months to road bike training in preparation for the race.
