Giant—Taiwan's Fifth Largest International Brand

Giant Group marketing head Phoebe Liu.

The "Taiwan Brand Value Survey" conducted by Interbrand and sponsored by the Industrial Development Bureau, MOEA is now in its 15th year. The Giant brand is a perpetual finalist in this survey, has enjoyed steadily growing brand value for the past eight years, and has been Taiwan's fifth most valuable international brand for the past three years. In 2017, Giant's brand value increased to US$486 million. Giant Group marketing head Phoebe Liu accepted this year's award on behalf of the company. Giant's ability to continue to find favor with domestic and foreign customers can be attributed to its superior products and services, professional marketing channels, and magnetic brand appeal.

The results of the Interbrand survey reflect three major trends affecting Taiwan's brands: One, accelerating globalization and the urgent need for corporate transformation and industrial upgrading; two, increasing purchasing power and steadily rising consumer experience; and three, the acceleration of inter-industry and interdisciplinary cooperation through the use of technologies such as the Internet of Things. In 2017, Taiwan's top 12 international brands were (in order): ASUS (US$1.678 billion), Trend Micro (US$1.405 billion), Want-Want Group (US$929 million), CTBC Holding (US$531 million), Giant (US$486 million), Advantech (US$484 million), Cathay Holding (US$414 million), 85°C (US$404 million), Acer (US$396 million), Mediatek (US$384 million), Merida (US$359 million), and HTC (US$336 million).
