Mavic Put into Receivership

After being placed under the management of a recovery company, renowned wheel brand, Mavic has been put into receivership at the Grenoble Commercial Court in France.

In the spring of 2019, Californian investment group Regent LP confirmed it had purchased Mavic. However, an article in BR&IN suggests that there is some doubt about Regent LP's ownership as French business filings obtained by BR&IN show Mavic is owned by M Sports International LLC, a Delaware-registered company.

It is reported that Mavic is now under a six-month “observation period” by French courts and that insiders are hoping a buyer will come forward to bail out the struggling business.

Mavic employs 250 members of staff in its production of wheelsets and clothing, and has been partnered with the Tour de France for the past 40 years, providing neutral service assistance to riders.
