Trump Delays Further Tariff Increase on Chinese Products

Washington, USA - US President Trump has tweeted that he intends to further delay additional tariff increases on Chinese products exported to the United States. The tariffs on US$200 billion worth of Chinese imported products, including many bike products, were first subjected to a 10% tariff in September 2018 with that figure set to increase to 25% at the start of this year. In December, Trump and his Chinese counterpart, Xi Jinping agreed to a temporary cease-fire in the ongoing trade war by delaying the increase for 90 days. According to President Trump's latest tweets on the subject, it appears that negotiations between China and the USA have made enough progress for Trump to agree this latest further delaying in increasing the tariffs to 25%.

In the tweets President Trump comment that the relationship between the two countries is very strong and that substantial progress has been made in trade talks.
