Eurobike Makes Changes to Awards

Friedrichshafen, Germany – In response to the Covid-19 pandemic, Eurobike organizers have adapted the Eurobike Award process. The early registration discount has been extended to 23 June while the closing date for registration remains on 9 July. Additionally, both the decision-making process and award ceremony will also include more digital amendments.
The timing of the award process has been adapted to take account of the later start to the season and the postponing of the special-edition Eurobike to November 2020

In a press release Eurobike project manager, Dirk Heidrich explained, “This year, we have moved the award procedure back somewhat, adjusted it and introduced more digital features. Nevertheless, the two-day decision-making panel where the judges meet to assess the products remains in place. We are convinced that this is the only way to ensure that all the new bike innovations are extensively tested, properly discussed and fully evaluated right down to the smallest detail.”

Following the digital pre-selection round with twelve judges, the final judges panel with six industry experts will be held on 5 and 6 August. Selection for the 2020 judges panel has had to consider the respective international travel restrictions, and panel members are expected to be announced soon.

The Eurobike Award 2020 winners will be announced on the original trade show date – 2 September 2020 – during a digital award ceremony. In addition, the new digital Start-Up Pitch event for young entrepreneurs and new businesses will be held on the same day. However, the industry will still get the opportunity to see the award-winning products live as the Eurobike Award Display remains a permanent feature of the trade fair that will take place from 24 - 26 November 2020 in Friedrichshafen.
