Four entrepreneurs from Quebec have acquired the assets of the iconic Rocky Mountain bike brand, following a court-supervised reorganization that began last year. The new ownership group, operating under the name Chaos Sports Inc., includes three partners affiliated with Quebec-based e-bike company Maui Bikes.
Despite the brand’s corporate headquarters being in Quebec, product development for Rocky Mountain will continue in North Vancouver, British Columbia, under the new ownership.
The new ownership team includes:
Jonathan Bourgeois, co-founder of Raccoon Skis and partner at Maui Bikes.
Christian Thibert, president of automotive distributor Thibert Inc., which owns Maui Bikes.
Patrick St-Denis, a veteran in sales with experience at Oakley, POC, and The North Face.
Jean-François Grenache, a specialist in marketing and business development.
“Rocky Mountain is more than just a name — it's a mindset, a culture, a way of experiencing the ride,” said St-Denis. “We’re stepping in with humility, energy, and determination. Our goal is clear: to honor what has made Rocky strong for over 40 years and to open a new chapter of growth.”
The brand is expected to relaunch during the 2025–2026 period. The new owners have committed to maintaining Rocky Mountain’s standards of quality, service, and support. Business operations, customer service, and after-sales support will continue without disruption. All existing warranties will be honored, and bike parts and components will remain available.
