Swiss aerodynamics leader Swiss Side has unveiled the new HADRON³ Ultimate 650 wheelset, designed to comply with the UCI’s latest equipment regulations. Starting January 1, 2026, UCI limits road racing rim heights to 65mm, and the Ultimate 650 ensures competitive riders retain peak aerodynamic performance and best-in-class stability.
Building on the third-generation HADRON³ design, the wheelset features a 22mm internal rim width and optimized V-shaped profile, minimizing aerodynamic drag while enhancing crosswind predictability. Compared to the previous 68mm HADRON³ Ultimate 680, the Ultimate 650 reduces steering moment (crosswind sensitivity) by 12%, adds only 0.5W aerodynamic drag, and saves 33g in weight.
Swiss Side CEO Jean-Paul Ballard stated: “Despite the challenges posed by the UCI rim depth limitation, we acted swiftly. The HADRON³ Ultimate 650 is the fastest, fully UCI-compliant wheelset, delivering ultimate performance and safety.”
Fun fact: The Ultimate 680 remains available for triathlon, non-UCI events, and riders pursuing full-gas road racing.
