Giant Group representatives met with the U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) in Washington, D.C. in late October. The meeting was conducted in a positive and constructive atmosphere, with comprehensive discussions on the current situation and ongoing improvements.
Giant expressed appreciation for the timely response from CBP, allowing the company to clarify facts directly and present actions already taken. CBP acknowledged Giant’s proactive engagement following the issuance of the Withhold Release Order (WRO) and recognized the company’s commitment to integrating labor and human rights into its sustainability governance framework. CBP emphasized that the purpose of this process is not to penalize Giant but to collaborate on driving continuous improvement. Giant reaffirmed its intent to work closely with CBP and become a positive example in labor and human rights governance advancement.
In parallel, Giant Group has commissioned an internationally recognized third-party auditing organization to conduct a thorough assessment, including employee interviews, document review, and on-site evaluation of workplace and dormitory facilities. CBP highlighted this independent review as an important component of its procedure.
Giant Group remains dedicated to aligning internal management and enhancements with international labor standards, ensuring fair, safe, and respectful working environments. The company will continue to provide progress updates to maintain transparency and public trust.
