TBA, BAS, and WRAP Join Forces to Promote Responsible and Sustainable Manufacturing

November 6, 2025 | Taipei, Taiwan — The Taiwan Bicycle Association (TBA), the Bicycle Alliance for Sustainability (BAS), and Worldwide Responsible Accredited Production (WRAP) have officially signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to advance social responsibility, sustainable manufacturing, and ethical business practices across Taiwan’s bicycle industry.

This year marks WRAP’s 25th anniversary, and to celebrate the occasion, WRAP Chairman and CEO Avedis H. Seferian joined the signing ceremony virtually. He appointed WRAP’s Greater China Regional Director, Brian Hui, to co-sign the MOU with TBA Chairman Robert Wu and BAS representative Charlie Liu.

In his remarks, Seferian said,“It is a true honor for WRAP to celebrate its 25th anniversary with the recognition and partnership of Taiwan’s leading industry organizations, TBA and BAS. This collaboration carries special meaning for us, as it reinforces our shared commitment to safe, legal, humane, and ethical manufacturing — the cornerstone of global corporate social responsibility.”

Under the agreement, the three parties will:

1. Maintain regular information exchange on social responsibility standards and WRAP certification;

2. Cooperate on training programs to help member companies meet audit and certification standards;

3. Host seminars and recognition events to promote WRAP certification among Taiwanese bicycle and accessory manufacturers.

TBA Chairman Robert Wu emphasized that this collaboration will strengthen the industry’s international  reputation: “Through  institutionalized management and corporate self-discipline, Taiwan’s bicycle industry will continue to move forward globally under a new image of compliance, sustainability, and responsibility.”

BAS Chairman Young Liu added that the partnership reflects a shared vision of sustainable development and responsible manufacturing, helping Taiwanese companies meet global expectations while staying competitive in international markets.

This MOU marks an important milestone in Taiwan’s ongoing efforts to integrate sustainability and ethical governance into its world-leading bicycle industry.
