Italian bicycle manufacturer Velo-ce S.R.L. has acquired the renowned titanium bicycle brand Van Nicholas from Accell, marking a strategic expansion into the premium adventure, travel and long-distance touring segment.
Known for its precision craftsmanship and vertically integrated production, Velo-ce will now take full responsibility for the manufacturing of Van Nicholas bicycles at its state-of-the-art facility near Milan. The company manages all key production stages in-house, including frame welding, wheel building and final assembly, a structure designed to ensure consistent quality, customization capability and a low-emission European supply chain.
Van Nicholas has earned a global reputation for producing lightweight yet highly durable titanium frames, engineered for demanding conditions and extended-distance riding. Under Velo-ce’s ownership, the brand will continue to focus on adventure cycling, touring and travel applications, combining titanium frame expertise with Italian manufacturing and design know-how.
The acquisition builds on Velo-ce’s existing experience in premium bicycle production. In 2020, the company launched Veloe®, its family-focused e-bike brand, which is recognized across Europe for versatile, cargo-capable bicycles designed for urban mobility and utility use. Management sees Van Nicholas as a complementary addition that broadens Velo-ce’s portfolio beyond e-bikes into performance-driven, adventure-ready bicycles.
According to Velo-ce, the acquisition reflects shared values between the two brands, particularly a commitment to premium quality, durability and European-based production. The company also highlighted its long-standing experience in made-to-order and customized bicycle configurations, supporting both dealers and end customers worldwide.
From January 2026, Velo-ce S.R.L. will assume all existing dealer and commercial agreements related to Van Nicholas. Dealers will be informed directly about the transition, while current Van Nicholas riders will continue to receive maintenance and service through established local dealer networks.
Looking ahead, Velo-ce aims to further strengthen its presence across Europe, targeting riders who prioritize quality, reliability and adventure-ready performance.
