Taichung Offers Free Coffee to Thursday Bicycle Commuters

To promote clean travel, the Taichung Environmental Protection Bureau will offer free coffee to those who ride on a Thursday until October 27th.

Riders who go to a designated location from 7 to 9am, or from 4-6pm can receive a voucher for a coffee and a mask. Offers are limited to one per person while supplies last. Riders will be asked to like and share on Facebook.

The designated dates and locations are:

        Wenxin Zhongqing MRT Station, September 29th

        Daqing MRT Station, October 6th

        Taiyuan Railway Station, October 13th

        Taichung City Hall MRT Station, October 20th

        Taichung Railway Station, October 27th

The promotion recently began at Taichung Railway Station to help promote “World Car-Free Day”. Government data states that motorized vehicle traffic accounts for 37.4% of all emissions of PM2.5 in Taichung.

The city, and rest of Taiwan, is promoting cleaner forms of transportation, such as MRT access, electric buses and bike rental systems.
