The new towards tomorrow – European Bike Show attracted a packed audience at its Taiwan briefing during Taichung Bike Week on September 17. Attendance exceeded expectations at The Splendor Hotel Taichung, prompting the organiser to add more chairs to accommodate industry representatives.
ZIV CEO Burkhard Stork and other key members of the German bicycle industry association travelled to Taichung to present the concept. Gloria Tu, Chief Representative of the Koelnmesse Representative Office Taiwan, also explained the venue layout, participation options and registration process.

The inaugural show will take place from September 6–8, 2027, at Koelnmesse in Cologne. Koelnmesse will host the event, while ZIV serves as its industry partner and brand owner. Positioned as a dedicated B2B platform, the show will cover bicycles, e-bikes, components, accessories, workshop services, digital solutions, infrastructure and the wider cycling ecosystem.

The event is expected to occupy Halls 6, 7 and 9, offering nearly 60,000 square metres of exhibition space, together with themed areas, content stages and test-ride facilities. German retail organisations including BICO, ZEG and VSF have expressed support.

A number of major international companies have already indicated their intention to participate, including Kenda, KTM Bike Industries, Bosch, ABUS, Schwalbe, Yamaha, Rohloff, Paul Lange & Co., Busch + Müller, Croozer, Puky and HP Velotechnik. Exhibitors will also receive complimentary tickets to invite their retail partners, strengthening the show’s direct connection with European dealers.
Early-bird stand rates start at €190 per square metre and are available until November 10, 2026. The strong turnout in Taichung highlighted both the importance of Taiwan’s bicycle supply chain and the industry’s growing interest in the new Cologne-based European trade platform.
