Garmin Ltd. announced on September 16, 2026, that it has acquired Applied Ballistics, bringing the company’s ballistic research, projectile data and integrated solver technologies in-house. Financial terms of the acquisition were not disclosed.

Headquartered in Howard City, Michigan, Applied Ballistics develops professional-grade ballistic solvers and radar-validated projectile models for hunters, competitive shooters and other long-range customers.

The acquisition also includes the Applied Ballistics Quantum app, a ballistic solver and ecosystem management program.

Garmin said the two companies have worked together for nearly 10 years, with Applied Ballistics technology already integrated into selected Garmin products. Brad Trenkle, Garmin Co-Chief Operating Officer, said the acquisition brings the company’s software, proprietary projectile data and precision firing solutions in-house.

According to Garmin, the acquisition expands its ability to provide comprehensive solutions across the tactical, shooting sports and hunting markets.
