adidas has unveiled its next-generation FREERIDER mountain bike shoe range, with four models covering both flat-pedal and clipless options. The new range was developed with input from athletes including Vali Höll, Danny MacAskill and Greg Minnaar, with the FREERIDER PRO BOA and FREERIDER PRO BOA Clipless leading the line-up.

The FREERIDER PRO BOA Clipless debuted at the Whistler World Cup on the feet of adidas athletes, including riders competing for the Norco adidas Race Division. It is scheduled to become available to consumers in March 2027 and is the first-ever clipless model to carry the FREERIDER name.

The new range combines FREERIDER's STEALTH rubber grip, fit and off-the-bike style with the clip-in performance associated with the Five Ten HELLCAT. The latest models are also the first to feature both the adidas 3-Stripes logo and the Five Ten logo.

The flat-pedal FREERIDER PRO BOA uses STEALTH rubber throughout and was developed with Brendan Fairclough, Vero Sandler and Danny MacAskill. The FREERIDER PRO BOA Clipless uses STEALTH Marathon rubber and was developed in partnership with the Norco adidas Race Division, Greg Minnaar, Vali Höll and Dakotah Norton. Its redesigned cleat slot provides an additional 5mm of adjustability, allowing riders to position their cleats further back.

Both Pro models feature a five-layer toe box with PORON impact resistance, asymmetric construction and an integrated debris shield. The FREERIDER PRO BOA uses a single Li2 BOA dial, while the Clipless model uses a dual Li2 BOA system. Both models also feature an asymmetric PERFORMFIT WRAP.

The four-model FREERIDER range will be available from March 2027 through adidas.com and the adidas app.
