Taichung is one of Taiwan’s key bicycle industry clusters, supported by a highly integrated network of bicycle and component manufacturers. Over the years, the Taichung City Government has promoted the industry through infrastructure development, sustainable transportation and international events.
The City Government has also provided long-term support for Taichung Bike Week (TBW), contributing resources to event organization, the official website, international promotion and industry information services. These efforts help connect global brands and product managers with Taichung’s strong OEM supply chain.
Chen Hsueh-sheng, Secretary-General of the Industrial Development and Investment Promotion Committee of Taichung City, said Taichung’s bicycle industry remains internationally competitive thanks to its strong manufacturing base and industrial expertise.
“Through Taichung Bike Week, we hope more international brands and buyers can experience the strength of Taichung’s bicycle industry and create new opportunities for cooperation with local companies,” Chen said.
Looking ahead, Chen expects the industry to advance toward higher-value manufacturing, smart technologies, electrification and sustainability. The City Government will continue working with the industry to attract international business opportunities, strengthen Taichung’s role in the global bicycle supply chain, and generate broader benefits for the local economy.
Taichung Bike Week 2027 will take place from October 5–8, 2027, bringing global bicycle brands, product managers and OEM suppliers back to Taichung for future product development and business collaboration.
