Halfords Joins Cyclescheme Retail Network in the UK

UK bicycle retailer Halfords has partnered with Cyclescheme, expanding access to bicycles and accessories for employees participating in the UK’s Cycle to Work scheme. The partnership was announced on 7 October 2026.

Cyclescheme, part of BHN Extras, is an employee benefit provider that enables eligible employees to obtain bicycles and accessories through salary sacrifice arrangements. The partnership will bring Halfords’ 373 retail stores across the UK into the Cyclescheme network, expanding access to cycling products and services.

According to Cyclescheme, the partnership offers employees a choice of more than 3,000 cycling brands.

Jess Frame, Managing Director of Retail at Halfords, said the partnership would give employees greater choice and convenience, including access to Halfords stores nationwide, expert advice, and a broad range of bicycles, e-bikes and accessories.

Adrian Warren, Senior Director at BHN, said adding Halfords to the network would expand choice and accessibility for employees seeking to purchase bicycles and accessories through the Cycle to Work scheme.

Cyclescheme also offers IntoCyclescheme, an option for employees who cannot participate in traditional salary sacrifice arrangements because of National Minimum Wage or Living Wage requirements. The programme provides access to bicycles and accessories through interest-free, spread-cost payments.

Halfords is expected to complete onboarding as a Cyclescheme retailer later in October 2026.
