Bosch eBike Systems has released version 1.38 of its eBike Flow app for e-bikes equipped with the Bosch Smart System. The update introduces adjustable traction control for individual riding modes, expanded Drivetrain Tensioner settings, a dedicated Trick Check display screen, and estimated remaining battery charging time.
Adjustable Traction Control
The update allows riders to configure traction control individually for each custom riding mode. The system regulates motor torque to help prevent rear-wheel spin, with four settings available: off, low, medium and high. Riders can adjust the level of intervention through the app’s advanced custom riding mode settings.
Expanded Drivetrain Tensioner Settings
First introduced in May 2026, the Drivetrain Tensioner applies preload to the drivetrain to reduce pedal free play and provide more direct power delivery. With version 1.38, riders can enable or disable the feature independently for each custom riding mode. It is disabled by default across all riding modes.
Bosch lists the Performance Line CX (BDU384Y), Performance Line CX-R (BDU386Y) and Cargo Line (BDU384Y) as compatible with the expanded Drivetrain Tensioner settings.
Trick Check Gets a Dedicated Display Screen
Riders can now configure Trick Check as a dedicated display screen through the eBike Flow app. Once a trick has been recorded, its maximum recorded values remain visible until the system detects the next trick, allowing riders to review the data at their convenience.
Estimated Remaining Charging Time
When the charger is connected, compatible Bosch Smart System displays automatically show the estimated time remaining until the battery is fully charged, in hours and minutes. The feature is available on compatible displays, except the Intuvia 100.
Riders with a ConnectModule and a paid Flow+ subscription can also view the estimated remaining charging time directly in the eBike Flow app.
New Fast-Charging Setting Prepares for Bosch 12A Charger
Version 1.38 adds a fast-charging option to the charging settings. However, this setting does not affect charging performance with existing chargers. It is intended for the Bosch 12A Charger, which the company has announced for release at the end of 2026.
