Cannondale announced on October 21, 2026, that it will wind down operations at its Wilton, Connecticut, office by mid-2027 and establish a new base for its North American business on the U.S. West Coast as part of changes to its global operations and retailer support.
According to Bicycle Retailer and Industry News, a notice filed with the Connecticut Department of Labor lists 143 workers who may be affected. Employee separations are scheduled to begin on December 21, 2026, and continue in phases through December 31, 2027.
Over the next six months, Cannondale will introduce a new North American sales model under which outside sales representatives will cover multiple Pon.Bike brands, including Santa Cruz and Cervélo. Building on two years of closer commercial collaboration between the brands, the new model will give retailers carrying multiple brands a single point of contact and simplify ordering and support services. Each brand will retain its own identity, models and relationship with riders.
A dedicated commercial, retailer and rider support team will be based at the new West Coast location, providing services to retailers and riders across North America.
As part of the global restructuring, Woudenberg, the Netherlands, currently Cannondale’s European headquarters, will become its global headquarters. Research and development (R&D) and engineering functions will remain in Freiburg, Germany.
Founded in Wilton in 1971, Cannondale has maintained ties to Connecticut for more than five decades. The company expressed its gratitude to the employees whose passion, creativity and commitment helped build the brand, noting that their innovative spirit remains central to its identity.
