Bosch announced on October 22, 2026, plans to reorganize its corporate structure in Germany by transferring the activities of its Mobility business sector and three central service units from Robert Bosch GmbH to four separate legal entities, each of which will operate as a wholly owned subsidiary within the Bosch Group.
The restructuring covers four units: Mobility, Bosch Digital, Global Business Services, and Global Real Estate. Bosch said the move aims to streamline its organizational structure and enhance innovation and competitiveness through greater customer focus, strengthened entrepreneurship, increased flexibility, and shorter decision-making processes.
Approximately 62,500 employees in Germany are expected to transfer to the new subsidiaries, most of them from the Mobility business sector. Their employment contracts will also be transferred. In the future, Robert Bosch GmbH will primarily comprise the corporate headquarters and the central research and advance engineering team, which currently employ more than 3,000 people in total.
Under the new structure, the subsidiaries will have greater operational autonomy, enabling them to respond more quickly and precisely to changing market conditions and customer requirements. The corporate headquarters will assume a stronger strategic holding role, supporting all operating units in realizing their full potential.
As a separate subsidiary within the Bosch Group, Mobility will further integrate its operations and manage them across its operating units. Bosch said the new structure will enable it to provide more tailored, integrated solutions to customers worldwide, accelerate decision-making, streamline processes, and allocate financial resources more strategically to innovation and growth areas. It will also create new opportunities for strategic partnerships and the development of new business models.
Dr. Markus Heyn, deputy chairman of the board of management of Robert Bosch GmbH and chairman of the Mobility business sector, said the company must continue to adapt to changing customer requirements, markets, and competitive conditions to defend its leading position in the long term.
Mobility will remain the largest business sector within the Bosch Group. In 2025, it generated sales revenue of €55.8 billion, representing approximately 60% of the group's total sales revenue.
The restructuring will be implemented in stages by the end of 2027, with the four new legal entities scheduled to begin operations on August 1, 2027.
