The asset purchase agreement was signed on October 29, 2026. It covers both brands, inventory, selected equipment, and related technical and commercial know-how. Operations are expected to continue at the existing Sennfeld site in Germany.
Of the 187 employees at the start of Winora Staiger's insolvency proceedings, 87 are expected to be retained, while 73 positions will be eliminated. The seven apprenticeship positions will also be maintained. Some employees had already left the company during the proceedings. The transaction is expected to close in early November, subject to customary conditions.
Meanwhile, German bicycle company Ghost-Bikes GmbH has failed to find a viable solution to continue its operations and entered self-administered insolvency proceedings on November 1, 2026.
Following an unsuccessful search for investors, the restructuring team concluded that no offer would put creditors in a better position than an orderly sale of the remaining inventory. The bicycles will therefore be sold in a single lot to one retailer before the company winds down its operations.
Ghost-Bikes GmbH had 53 employees when the insolvency proceedings opened. The future ownership of the Ghost brand, as well as arrangements for existing warranties, spare-parts availability and after-sales support, has not yet been clarified.
