KHS Taiwan Reaffirms Normal Operations Following U.S. Distribution Announcement

Following recent news of KHS U.S. Distribution’s planned closure announced by Bicycle Retailer and Industry News on October 8, KHS Taiwan and its manufacturing affiliate United Engineering Corporation have issued an official statement reassuring global partners that operations and sales in the Taiwan market as well as other international markets outside the U.S. remain fully stable and unaffected.

In the official announcement, KHS Taiwan President and United Engineering Corporation Vice President Jack Hsieh emphasized that both companies will continue normal business operations, including production, logistics, and customer service, without any disruption.

KHS Taiwan and United Engineering Corporation remain committed to providing high-quality bicycles and reliable service to our partners and riders worldwide,” said Jack Hsieh. “Our manufacturing and supply chain operations in Taiwan are fully independent from the U.S. distribution business and continue to operate as normal.”

The clarification follows the U.S. distributor’s statement that it will close in early 2026 as founders Wen Hsieh and Susan Hsieh retire after more than 50 years in the bicycle industry. The KHS and Free Agent brands, however, will continue to be distributed across other global markets through existing networks.

In his statement, Hsieh extended appreciation to Wen Hsieh and Wayne D. Gray, the long-time vice president of KHS U.S., for their “decades of dedication and outstanding contributions to the global bicycle community,” wishing them both a happy retirement.

Despite the transition in the United States, KHS Taiwan remains focused on innovation and international collaboration. Hsieh reaffirmed that the company will “uphold professionalism and work hand in hand with partners worldwide to advance the shared vision of a vibrant and sustainable cycling industry.”

KHS Taiwan and United Engineering Corporation will continue to serve as a key manufacturing and R&D center for KHS global bicycle markets, supplying products to over 50 countries and maintaining the group’s long-standing commitment to quality and performance.

KHS Taiwan President Jack Hsieh emphasizes that operations and international sales remain stable and reliable.”
