Kent, Ohio — Kenda Tire celebrated the grand opening of a new Martin Wheel facility in Kent, Ohio, on July 23, marking another milestone in the company’s long-term investment in the United States and its strategy to strengthen localized manufacturing and supply chain resilience across North America.

The ceremony was attended by Kenda Chairman Jimmy Yang, Director General Yen-Feng Lei of the Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in Chicago, Ohio government officials, local leaders and industry representatives.
Yang said the new facility reflects Kenda’s long-term commitment to customers, employees and the U.S. market. Since first investing in Ohio in 1982, Kenda has established its North American headquarters, manufacturing facilities and technology center in the state. The company currently holds an 85% global market share in golf cart tires and continues to expand its North American operations.

Lei noted that Kenda has become a successful example of Taiwanese companies investing in the United States, while highlighting the growing Taiwan–U.S. partnership in advanced manufacturing, AI, semiconductors and supply chain cooperation. He also emphasized Ohio’s strong manufacturing base and business-friendly environment as key advantages for future investment.

Kenda has built a comprehensive North American operating platform in Ohio covering sales, R&D, technical services and supply chain management. The company now operates three wheel manufacturing plants and six assembly centers across the U.S. The new facility is expected to further enhance production efficiency, customer service and localized supply capabilities while supporting regional economic growth and job creation.
