Garmin has announced the acquisition of TrainingPeaks and TrainHeroic, two of the world's leading digital training platforms for endurance and strength athletes. The move marks a significant expansion of Garmin's connected fitness ecosystem, bringing advanced coaching services and structured training tools under one umbrella.

TrainingPeaks is widely used by cyclists, triathletes, runners and endurance coaches for creating personalized training plans, monitoring performance data and analyzing workout progress. TrainHeroic, meanwhile, specializes in strength and conditioning programs, serving athletes, coaches and sports organizations with customizable training solutions.

According to Garmin, integrating the two platforms will enable athletes of all levels to access more comprehensive coaching experiences, combining Garmin's wearable devices and performance metrics with professional coaching and science-based training programs.

Brad Trenkle, Garmin Co-Chief Operating Officer, said the acquisition reflects the company's commitment to helping athletes achieve their goals through advanced training tools, actionable insights and stronger connections between coaches and users.

Andy Stephens, CEO of Peaksware Holdings, the parent company of TrainingPeaks and TrainHeroic, said the companies have collaborated with Garmin for more than a decade and share a common vision of making professional coaching and performance analytics more accessible through data-driven training.

Both TrainingPeaks and TrainHeroic are headquartered in Louisville, Colorado. Approximately 120 employees from the two businesses will join Garmin following the acquisition. Financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

The acquisition further strengthens Garmin's position in the rapidly growing digital fitness and connected training market, while reinforcing its strategy of combining hardware, software and coaching services into a more integrated experience for cyclists, endurance athletes and fitness enthusiasts worldwide.
