HENTACH Introduces EFFI High-Efficiency Hub Motor

Ningbo Yinzhou HENTACH Electromechanical Co., Ltd. has introduced the EFFI high-efficiency hub motor, developed over four years to improve the low-speed performance and energy efficiency of 250W e-bike drive systems.

Designed for urban commuting, single-speed belt-drive bicycles and lightweight recreational e-bikes, the EFFI motor delivers a claimed peak efficiency of 86%. It weighs approximately 2.58kg, measures 137mm in diameter and provides up to 70Nm of low-speed peak torque.

A key feature is its amorphous-alloy motor core. Compared with conventional silicon steel, the material is designed to reduce hysteresis and eddy-current losses, helping lower heat generation and broaden the motor’s high-efficiency operating range.

HENTACH combines the amorphous core with a high-speed motor architecture and a precision reduction-gear system. This enables the motor to operate within a more efficient speed range while converting its output into stronger wheel-end torque for starts, acceleration and short uphill sections.

The EFFI system also features adaptive assistance control, adjusting motor output according to vehicle speed, road gradient and rider input. On single-speed belt-drive e-bikes, the system can provide additional assistance during starts and climbing, helping deliver a smoother and more natural riding experience.

The stated 70Nm output represents short-duration low-speed peak torque rather than continuous torque. Actual performance will depend on controller settings, battery voltage, wheel size, vehicle load and thermal conditions.
