Swiss outdoor and mountaineering brand Mammut Sports Group AG is set to change ownership after China-based alternative asset manager CPE signed an agreement to acquire the company from Jacobs Capital.
Financial terms were not disclosed, and the transaction remains subject to customary regulatory approvals.
Jacobs Capital acquired Mammut in 2021. Since then, Mammut's total revenue has grown at a double-digit compound annual growth rate, while operating profit margins have more than doubled. More than half of the company's revenue now comes from markets outside Europe, with particularly strong growth in China and Japan.
CPE said it will support Mammut's next phase of growth, particularly in Asia and North America, while preserving the brand's equity, technical excellence and heritage.
CEO Heiko Schäfer and the existing management team will remain in place. Mammut's headquarters, along with its core innovation, design and development functions, will also remain in Seon and Lenzburg, Switzerland.
Founded in 1862, Mammut operates in around 55 countries and employs approximately 900 people.
