Tern has appointed Cycle Sport New Zealand as its exclusive distributor in New Zealand, effective August 11, 2026.
Under the new partnership, Cycle Sport will be responsible for Tern product sales, dealer support, warranty, service, and spare parts in New Zealand, taking over the distribution responsibilities previously handled by PRV New Zealand.
Cycle Sport has decades of experience distributing premium bicycle brands in New Zealand and supports a network of more than 150 retailers nationwide. According to Tern, the partnership will allow the company to offer a broader range of Tern bicycles and accessories to dealers and customers in New Zealand.
Sam Fletcher, Director of Cycle Sport, said the company looks forward to expanding Tern's presence in New Zealand and working with existing Tern dealers during the transition.
The change also marks the end of Tern's long-standing distribution partnership with PRV New Zealand. Tern thanked the PRV team for its role in developing the local dealer network and bringing Tern bicycles to riders across the country.
Tern also highlighted PRV's work with New Zealand Post on one of the world's first large-scale electric cargo bike deployments for mail delivery. The program continues to expand, with hundreds of Tern cargo bikes currently in service as New Zealand Post transitions to a low-emission delivery fleet.
