Michelin has joined ZIV (Zweirad-Industrie-Verband), the German bicycle industry association, strengthening its involvement in the bicycle sector and its exchange with other industry stakeholders.
ZIV currently represents around 140 member companies, including large corporations, start-ups, bicycle manufacturers, and companies involved in distribution and retail. Michelin said that joining ZIV fits its strategic direction in the bicycle business and will enable the company to strengthen its exchange with other members and contribute its experience to the association’s work.
Jan-Paul Perlwitz, Sales Director Velo, Michelin Region North Europe, said: “The membership fits perfectly with our strategic direction in the bicycle business.”
Michelin has expanded its involvement in the bicycle sector in recent years. In January 2026, the company returned to road racing as the official technical partner of Dutch professional cycling team Picnic PostNL. Since July 2025, Michelin has also been the tyre sponsor of the STEVENS Youngsters Team and, since the 2024 season, has served as a main partner of the WHOOP UCI Mountain Bike World Series.
Joining ZIV marks Michelin’s latest step in strengthening its involvement and networking within the bicycle industry.
