Continental Expands Aero 111 Range with New 32mm Road Tyre

Continental has expanded its Aero 111 road tyre range with a new 32mm size. Developed in collaboration with Swiss Side and DT Swiss, the Aero 111 is a front-wheel-specific tyre designed to reduce aerodynamic drag and enhance the sailing effect across different yaw angles.

The new 32mm version features a patented tread pattern with 48 precision cavities that act as vortex generators. By manipulating airflow around the front wheel to delay flow separation, the design is intended to reduce drag and enhance the sailing effect across different yaw angles.

The tyre uses Continental’s race-proven BlackChili Compound, which is designed to provide low rolling resistance and reliable grip in both wet and dry conditions. Puncture protection is provided by the Vectran™ Breaker layer. The casing is fully Tubeless Ready and compatible with hookless rims.

The Aero 111 is now available in three sizes: 32-622, 29-622 and 26-622. The 32-622 version weighs 310g, compared with 280g for the 29-622 and 250g for the 26-622. The tyre is offered in a Black/Black configuration and is made in Germany.

Hannah Ferle, Road Product Manager at Continental Tires, said the addition of the 32mm width brings the Aero 111’s aerodynamic performance and crosswind-control technology to road cyclists seeking greater comfort, while retaining the model’s aerodynamic characteristics.
