HERCULES has launched a safety recall for five models in its Rob Fold SL electric folding bike range due to a safety risk involving the carbon fibre fork.
According to HERCULES, the carbon fibre fork may fail under certain circumstances, potentially resulting in a loss of steering control and posing a risk of accidents and injuries to riders and other road users. HERCULES has instructed owners to stop using the affected bicycles immediately.
The recall covers the following five models:
Rob Fold SL IQ
Rob Fold SL 10
Rob Fold SL 9
Rob Fold SL F 5
Rob Fold SL R5
The model name can be identified on the bicycle frame.
HERCULES is offering affected customers several options. Owners can exchange their bicycle for an equivalent HERCULES Rob Fold model equipped with an aluminium fork, including the F5, R5, SUV and 9 models, or for another equivalent HERCULES e-bike. Alternatively, customers can return the bicycle, together with its battery and charger, for a full refund.
Customers are advised to contact an authorised HERCULES dealer or the company’s customer service for further information and to arrange the recall.
