Selle Italia Expands SLR Range with New SLR XC Saddle

Selle Italia has expanded its SLR saddle range with the new SLR XC, a mountain bike saddle designed for cross-country and marathon riding.

The SLR XC was unveiled at the 2026 UCI Mountain Bike World Championships in Val di Sole. Compared with Selle Italia’s previous SLR off-road model, the new saddle features a broader platform and, for the first time in the range, a carbon rail option. The SLR XC is available in Carbon, Elite and Advan versions, with carbon and steel rail options.

The range includes Superflow versions, while closed-body S1 and L1 configurations are available for the Carbon and Advan models. Metal-rail versions feature Selle Italia’s Shock Absorber technology, designed to reduce vibrations and micro-impacts during off-road riding.

The saddle features a tapered rear profile designed to help riders return quickly to the saddle after technical sections ridden out of the saddle. Its nose is lower and slightly wider to improve freedom of movement and traction on steep climbs, while the overall length has been increased to 250 mm to provide additional support when riders lean forward over the nose on challenging sections.

Reinforced side edges protect the saddle from impacts and abrasion, while the rear section of the shell is shaped to ensure compatibility with modern full-suspension mountain bikes when the seatpost is lowered.

Alongside the standard SLR XC, Selle Italia has introduced the SLR XC 3D Carbon, bringing the company’s 3D-printed saddle technology to its off-road range. The model features an in-house-developed lattice structure manufactured in Italy using Carbon DLS technology. Its differentiated cushioning structure is designed to provide targeted absorption of impacts and vibrations.

The new SLR XC range will be available from October through Selle Italia and selected bicycle retailers.
