German bicycle retailer Küstenrad hosted the inaugural E-Bike Messe Schleswig-Holstein at its premises in Rendsburg, Germany, from August 28 to 30, 2026. The three-day event attracted approximately 8,000 visitors.
The event featured bicycles and e-bikes from more than 25 manufacturers. Visitors could test various models on a dedicated test track, including low-step bicycles, tricycles, urban e-bikes, cargo bikes, and gravel bikes.
Participating brands included Kalkhoff, Riese & Müller, Corratec, Urban Arrow, Gazelle, Focus, Trek, Brompton, Tenways, Abus, SQlab, and Ortlieb. Representatives from the manufacturers and the Küstenrad team provided product consultations and assisted visitors with test rides on site.
Maximilian Schay, Managing Director of Küstenrad E-Bike Stores and organizer of the event, confirmed that a second edition is scheduled for 2027.
Corratec sales representative Holger Pastoors noted that the event provided an opportunity to engage directly with end consumers through consultations and test rides, with bicycle sales also completed on site. Küstenrad currently operates 17 stores across Schleswig-Holstein and Hamburg. Customers who purchased bicycles at the event could choose to collect their bikes at any Küstenrad branch.
The three-day program also featured an outlet sales area, food trucks, a family zone, a raffle, live music, bicycle coding sessions conducted by the German Cyclists’ Association (ADFC), and autograph sessions with handball players.
