Tern's North American division, Stile Products, Inc., has added several team members and expanded roles as the company builds on what it describes as continued steady growth in the region.
Gage Saxton has joined Tern as Business Development & Marketing Manager, while Brandon O’Kelly has taken on a new role as Brand Manager. Doug Hall has been appointed Outside Sales Representative for the Pacific Northwest, Victor Alava has joined as Lead Tech, and Rob Castaneda has joined the warehouse team in Downey, California.
Steve Boyd, Tern's General Manager for North America, said the past 18 months had been one of the most unpredictable and challenging periods of his more than 30 years in the bicycle industry, while also being among Tern’s most successful.
According to Boyd, demand for high-quality, reliable and safe e-bikes has continued to increase. He said Tern has been responding with new models, updates to existing products and dealer programs designed to minimize the impact of tariffs as much as possible.
Saxton previously worked at Gates Belt Drive as Business Development Manager and counted Tern as an OE partner. At Gates, he helped develop a nationwide retailer training and education program and will now bring those efforts to Tern’s dealer network.
O’Kelly previously served as Tern’s Director of Operations in North America and returns to the company after a brief period outside the bicycle industry. His new responsibilities include product management and developing and managing strategic responses to the increasingly dynamic regulatory environment.
Hall most recently served as National Sales and Business Development Manager for Pinarello US, following the sale of his Bike Therapy store in Morgan Hill. He has returned to his roots in outside sales, where he has decades of experience.
Alava brings 10 years of experience with Bicycle Transit Systems and six years in bicycle retail, while Castaneda spent 23 years with KHS. Their experience and dedication will help Tern navigate changes in inventory management and ensure that industry and retail partners receive a high level of service.
Tern said the expanded team is intended to support its dealers and other partners as the company continues to develop its North American business.
